Dennis Balthaser, a Veteran of the United States Army's 815th Engineering Battalion, subsequently served for more than three decades in the Civil Engineering division of the Texas Department of Transportation. After retirement, Dennis decided to move to Roswell, New Mexico, to pursue ufology, his avocation. For years Dennis has found the details of the Roswell incident particularly intriguing and noteworthy. After moving to Roswell, Dennis was employed as an Engineering Consultant in a local engineering firm. During this period on weekends Dennis volunteered at the International UFO Museum and Research Center (IUFOMRC). After concluding his engineering assignments, Dennis assumed the duties of IUFOMRC Operations Manager. Between 1996 and 1998 Dennis Balthaser served on the Board of Directors of the International UFO Museum and Research Center and was its UFO investigator.
Today Dennis Balthaser serves the ufological field as an independent researcher, investigator, journalist, and lecturer. Dennis' chief areas of research pertain to the Roswell Incident, Area 51, underground bases, and the Egyptian Pyramids. Currently, Dennis Balthaser writes editorials for UFO Magazine and 32 websites. Dennis works closely with such celebrated researchers as Stanton Friedman, Frank Warren, Scott Ramsey, and several others. Dennis' award-winning website at www.truthseekeratroswell.com has had more than 1,000,000 visitors since 1998.
Recognized by his peers as a leading ufologist, Dennis is a member of several ufology organizations, a Certified Mutual UFO Network Field Investigator, and an Advisory Board member of the Great Pyramid of Giza Research Association (www.gizapyramid.com ).
Dennis Balthaser has presented at numerous conferences throughout the country including the annual Roswell Conference and the Aztec Symposium.
